History of Claude O. Taylor Sr.

Political Career

Mr. Taylor worked in this barbershop in New York City before moving back to Grand Rapids, Mi.  Claude often worked as a barber, besides the labor movement work to support the large family he had.

Labor Unions:

He was one time President of the Michigan Federation of Labor and President of the Michigan Federations of Musician's. Here in Grand Rapids he headed the old Grand Rapids Trades and Labor Council as its chief executive and later was elected president of the Grand Rapids Federation of Labor. For the State Body of International Brotherhood of Teamsters he was their first secretary/tresurer and was active in the affairs of that organization.
